A little preparation helps every member of your group stay comfortable, confident, and ready to enjoy the Pacific.
START A FEW DAYS AHEAD
Fatigue and dehydration can make motion sickness and irritability more likely. Begin drinking extra water two or three days before your trip and aim for a good night’s sleep before departure. The Safari has a private onboard bathroom, so you do not need to avoid sensible hydration because you are worried about privacy.
MOTION-SICKNESS PREPARATION
If anyone in your party is prone to motion sickness, discuss appropriate options with a pharmacist or healthcare professional before the trip. Follow the product directions and pay attention to warnings about drowsiness, driving, other medicines, and alcohol. Do not wait until symptoms begin aboard the boat to make a plan.
Choose an option that is appropriate for the guest’s age, health, and current medications.
If a professional recommends a product, learning how it affects you before charter morning can prevent surprises.
Water, ginger tea, and simple snacks often sit better than a heavy or oily breakfast.
WHAT TO BRING
Coastal weather can change quickly, even when the forecast looks pleasant. Layers let adults and children adjust during the run, while a single small bag keeps the cabin and walkways clear.
Every guest who is required to be licensed must arrive with the correct Washington saltwater fishing license. Halibut anglers also need the applicable catch record card. A missing required license can mean that guest cannot fish.

Halibut, lingcod, and Pacific rockfish are outstanding table fare. Bring a clean cooler sized for your group and leave it secured in your vehicle during the charter. After the trip, your fish can be processed and packed for the drive home.
For airline travel or a long drive, ask Capt. Lamont before the trip so you can bring the right cooler and packing supplies.
IMPORTANT BOAT POLICIES
Alcohol, smoking, vaping, and recreational drugs are not allowed. Guests who appear impaired cannot participate.
The Safari has a private onboard bathroom. Please use shore facilities before departure when practical, but privacy is available when nature calls.
Children of all ages are welcome. Tell Capt. Lamont about ages, concerns, or shorter attention spans so he can help your family choose the right trip and departure time.
Ask before charter day whenever possible. Good preparation is part of providing a comfortable trip, and there are no foolish questions when you are planning for people you care about.
