THE SHORT ANSWER
For La Push lingcod fishing, choose the 5-hour Offshore/Ext. Nearshore Rockfish and Lingcod trip. Complete beginners are welcome, with gear provided and patient instruction throughout the day.

Which trip should you choose?
Choose the 5-hour Offshore/Ext. Nearshore Rockfish and Lingcod trip when lingcod is a priority. You will have more time to fish for both species, with gear provided and help throughout the day. The 4-hour Nearshore Rockfish trip is a shorter outing focused on rockfish.
What the day feels like
Expect a ride to the fishing grounds, instruction on the supplied gear and fishing over bottom structure selected by the captain. Ocean fishing can involve standing, balancing and working a rod repeatedly. Tell Capt. Lamont about your experience and any limitations before you reserve.
Never fished before? You are welcome here.
You do not need any fishing experience to join us. Capt. Lamont provides rods, reels, bait and tackle, demonstrates how to use them and helps you through each step. Ask as many questions as you like; patient teaching is part of the trip. Tell us about your group so we can match the outing to your comfort and interests.
Season and route are separate questions
KYS plans bottomfish trips during the March–October season. Capt. Lamont selects productive fishing grounds for the day. The 5-hour trip gives your crew more fishing time and range, with rockfish and lingcod as the targets.
Make the most of your catch
Bring a cooler for the trip home and leave it in your vehicle while fishing. Ask about dockside processing and charges before departure. Learning a new technique, sharing the excitement of a bite and bringing fish home for dinner are all part of the experience.
