GIVE A DAY TOGETHER

Giving a La Push Fishing Trip as a Gift: What to Know

Plan a fishing gift around the recipient’s experience, travel plans and crew—and check the certificate details before purchasing.

THE SHORT ANSWER

A KYS fishing gift card can help someone plan a day on the water with family or friends. Use the official Gift Cards checkout, read the card’s purchase and redemption terms, and check current trip prices. Buying a gift card does not reserve a date or guarantee a particular trip is available.

Start with the person receiving the gift

Think about what the recipient would enjoy: a first ocean fishing experience, time with children or a longer fishing day with friends. Ask about their comfort on boats and how far they would travel to La Push. You do not need to turn a surprise into an interrogation; a flexible gift can let them discuss the final trip choice with Capt. Lamont.

Choose the experience before estimating the amount

Check Trips & Pricing for the current fare and included group size. The 2-hour LaPush Coastal Explorer offers a shorter private introduction. The shared 4-hour rockfish trip and 5-hour rockfish-and-lingcod trip provide longer fishing options. Full-day halibut is a different commitment. Gear, bait and instruction are included, while licenses and fish processing require separate planning.

Read the terms in the official gift-card checkout

Use the Gift Cards link on the KYS website. Before paying, check the amount or experience being purchased, delivery options, redemption instructions and any restrictions shown by the issuer. Do not assume every card covers a whole boat, every species or all extra charges. If you want to cover a particular group outing, confirm the details with Capt. Lamont before purchasing.

A gift card and a reservation are separate

The recipient still needs an available trip date and captain confirmation. Shared departures may have a minimum total number of booked anglers; private trips are limited by boat capacity and availability. Weather can affect any ocean outing. Avoid promising a specific date until the reservation is confirmed, especially if the gift includes travel or lodging.

How the recipient should use a certificate

Follow the instructions provided with the purchase and keep the code private. The KYS booking form has a gift-certificate code field. If the code is not accepted or the coverage is unclear, contact Capt. Lamont before submitting a separate payment. Certificate types and coverage can differ; do not assume a card bought through an outside checkout is automatically ready for every online booking option.

Make the presentation personal

Include a short note explaining why you chose the experience, a link to the trip guide and an invitation to bring someone along if the gift covers them. A printed photo of the Safari or a simple plan for a family day can make the gift feel thoughtful. Keep the certificate details with the recipient and let them choose the timing with the captain.
