Can Two People Book a La Push Fishing Charter?

You do not need to round up six friends to go fishing. Here is how individual seats and private outings work.

THE SHORT ANSWER

Yes. One or two people can request shared seats on KYS Nearshore Rockfish and Offshore/Ext. Nearshore Rockfish and Lingcod trips. Those departures need three total booked anglers across all parties—not three in your own group. Your request still needs captain confirmation.

Your party size and the departure minimum are different

If you and a friend want to fish, enter two guests when requesting shared seats. You do not have to purchase a third seat or find a third friend simply to submit a request. The three-angler minimum applies to the total departure for the shared bottomfish trips. Another guest or party can help fill the remaining space, subject to availability.

What happens after two people request seats?

Capt. Lamont reviews the trip date, available space and total number of anglers. He can help work toward filling a departure or discuss another date. A request is not a guarantee that enough anglers will book. Wait for confirmation before treating the trip as settled, especially if you are making lodging arrangements specifically for fishing.

Give yourself more than one possible date

If your travel plans allow it, tell the captain a second date that could work. Flexibility gives him more options when matching smaller parties to a departure. Be clear about the days you actually can attend and any departure-time restrictions. Do not book extra people who are not coming just to make the form reach the departure minimum.

What if we want the boat to ourselves?

Shared seats mean other anglers may join you. For a private outing, compare the listed private options or discuss your preferred trip directly with Capt. Lamont. The 2-hour LaPush Coastal Explorer is priced for a private group beginning with up to two anglers. Private Pacific Halibut has a different price structure. A two-person shared booking does not reserve the entire boat.

Families, couples and first-timers are welcome

You do not have to be an experienced fishing pair to join a shared departure. Rods, reels, bait, tackle and instruction are provided. Let the captain know if either guest is a beginner, a child or uncertain about ocean time. All passengers count toward the Safari’s six-person group capacity, including non-fishing companions; discuss those arrangements before booking.

Make the request with your real group size

Choose the trip that fits your interests, select an available date and enter the actual number of guests. Review the payment and cancellation terms shown during booking. Add a note with your backup date or timing preferences. If the calendar does not offer what you need, contact Capt. Lamont rather than assuming a trip is unavailable for every smaller party.
